Bukit Jamur Gresik Becomes a Favorite Photo Spot

SURYA.co.id | GRESIK - A man stood up on a 5 meters “Jamur” (mushroom). He took some photos on it. He insisted to climb the Batu Jamur (mushroom stone) in spite of the prohibition mushroom climbing.

Climbing the mushroom is prohibited because it might ruin or destroy the mushroom hills.

Visitors might be slip while climbing the hill, but it does not seem to be an obstacle for them as long as they can take photos on it.

On another hill, there was a lover who asked their friend to take a photo of them.

There were also 2 foreign tourists who were posing on another Batu Jamur.

Other visitors were going back and forth to find a nice spot to save their moment in a photo under Batu Jamur.

Bukit Jamur is located in Desa Bungah, Kecamatan Bungah, Kabupaten Gresik, Jawa Timur. Many visitors come and go to that tourist attraction.

Visitors didn’t seem to care about the hot weather. Visitors could rent an umbrella if they don’t want to burn their skin. It only costs IDR 5.000 – 10.000, depends on the size.

Hendra (27), a man who rented umbrellas, said that he could earn IDR 100.000 – 200.000 per day.

Bukit Jamur is located in ex-limestone mining, Kaliwot hill, Desa Bungah.

The owner of C mining (location of Bukit Jamur), Irsyad Raharja, revealed that this place started to be dig on 1992.

C mining was closed on 2008 and opened to the public in 2010. At first, people come to this place was just for photo hunting, especially for pre-wedding photos.

The hard stones were left behind because it could be taken, but another area was dug.

The stones were eroded into mushroom shape by the wind and rain.

There was like some mushrooms grow in the ex-mining. There are around 40 batu jamur in that 3-hectare land.
