SURYA.co.id | BANYUWANGI - To increase tourist visits, The mayor of Banyuwangi Regency, East Java arrange 77 events in 2018. The events start from culture festival, carnival, sport, till culinary show up for tourist.

Every week there are two till three event which can be enjoyed by traveler when they come to Banyuwangi.

The traveler can choose the event or carnival which they love. Of course it will be the standard time which time you should visit to Banyuwangi.

To make traveler easy to see the schedule, you can use “Banyuwangi Festival” app. This app summarize several events in Banyuwangi, which can be visited by traveler or tourist.

Project executor from the head of culture and tourism MY Bramuda when was contacted by KompasTravel several days ago, said that Banyuwangi become the first one who socialize 77 events into app.

"The purpose is to facilitate traveler to choose holiday time adjust with the event which just from their gadget,” he said.

According to him, the app of banyuwangi Festival become one of the ways of Banyuwangi to “go digital”. Traveler can download it at AppStore or IOS. This app contain many info from 77 events in Banyuwangi.

You can start from finding event that suit with the arrival time in Banyuwangi. For example, you arrive in July, so it will show many events in that month.

Several events that become favorite attraction in Banyuwangi is something like Festival Banyuwangi Kuliner and Art Week (12-15 April), Jazz Pantai Banyuwangi (12-13 May), Banyuwangi Ethno Carnival (29 July), Ijen Summer Jazz (22 September), and Gandrung Sewu Festival (20 October).

Moreover, some new attraction will be showed up in 2018, such as Tahu-Tempe Festival (9-13 February) to introduce village of tofu and tempe maker in Banyuwangi and Imlek Festival which will perform tradition from Tionghoa (17 Maret).

There are also Festival Karya Tari (31 March), Fishing Festival (7 April), Festival Coklat (12 May), and Festival Kuntulan (3-6 October).

Bramuda added that spot tourism approach still enliven the event in Banyuwangi Festival 2018. Start from Banyuwangi Underwater Festival (4-6 April), International Ijen Green Run (8 April), Banyuwangi International BMX (30 June), and Tour de Ijen (26-29 September).

There are also some fashion attraction, such as Green and Recycle Fashion Week (24 March), Banyuwangi Fashion Festival (14 July), Banyuwangi Batik Festival (17 November), and Festival Kebaya (5 december).

“Now, there are also festival to increase social empathy of villager such as Festival Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (10 February) and Festival Anak Yatim (13-15 Sebtember),” Bramuda said.
