Camping with Full of 'Merriness' in Klayar Beach in Pacitan, East Java
The main destinations are camping area in Klayar Beach that is located in Kecamatan Donorojo, Kabupaten Pacitan, East Java
SURYA.co.id | PACITAN - Some time ago, I and my friends went on a journey from Yogyakarta to Pacitan. The main destinations are camping area in Klayar Beach that is located in Kecamatan Donorojo, Kabupaten Pacitan, East Java. I departed with five friends by riding motorcycles. The start point was in Yogyakarta.
Before departing, we had prepared some specific equipment for camping. For the tent, we brought dome tent that made from light yet simple nylon. We brought other equipment and cooking tools and other needs.
The long journey with motorcycles is always full of risk. Moreover, my destination is Klayar Beach that needs three hours riding. We decided to use jacket, socks, mountain sandals, gloves, face-covered slayer, helm, and sunglasses. It was to anticipate getting sunburned during Noon Journey.
The journey from Yogyakarta started. The route that we choose was Jalan Kusumanegara, Jalan Rejowinangun, Jalan Wonosari, Jalan Pathuk, Jalan Wonogiri, until Pacitan. The most extreme spot in the early of the journey is Pathuk Hill in the border between Bantul and Mount Kidul. It is because the road is full of uphills and sharp turns. Fortunately, we could pass that area, even though our hearts beat faster than forever because of the 70 accelerations in that horrible road.
Not all of the roads that we had chosen are the paved road, sometimes there were roads full of holes and rocks. Furthermore, the road near the beach was full of mud because of rain. Finally, we arrived safely in Klayar Beach after three hours trip.
As soon as we reached the shore, the aesthetic panorama mesmerized us. The panorama paid all our hardship even though the weather was a little bit cloudy. After tired riding motorcycle, we immediately ran to the water. The beach is quite wide because the beach is quite long,
In the beach, there some low reefs that could be a good spot for playing water. The white sand is so soft, and it is different with some beaches in Yogyakarta. This beach is also very tranquil and there was no one there. Many people still do not know this place.
Later, we decided to build our tent on the beach, 10 meters from the shore. The best place to choose to build dome tent is flat land behind bushes to prevent naughty winds.
When the night came, the beach is totally dark. Moreover, there was no electricity all around the beach. So, we built the tent in the dark, while using flashlights to put the frames. Thirty minutes later, two tents were done.
After finished our tent, we decided to cook dinner. One of our friends that is the best cook started to boil water and noodles for dinner. That night, we ate egg noodles, ginger water, and toasted bread.
The obstacles during our camping were there is no fresh water on the beach. So we were depended on our mineral water that we had brought.
On that night, when we were sleeping in the tent, the drizzle became a downpour. Fortunately, the wind was not so strong. We slept with a lullaby from the sound of rains and tides.
In the morning, the rains still poured. We decided to go nearest local resident’s hut as a shelter. Then, we started to cook breakfast.
That morning, our breakfast was quite sumptuous. We had rice, egg noodles, sardine, and grape pudding.
In the afternoon, the rain started to decrease. We packed our tent and our things. This camping was quite a success, even though rains came all along. It was a happy and different experience. Later, we went back to Yogyakarta.
Unfortunately, it was our first time visiting Klayar Beach, so we did not know that there is a waterfall near the camping area. This waterfall is called the Ocean Flute (Seruling Samudra) by the local residents. The height of this waterfall is 10 meters.
So if you go there, do not forget to visit the Ocean Flute!
