Samian, one of the officials of Culture and Tourism Department of Kabupaten Banyuwangi said how this waterfall was named with Jagir. It was because there were many Jagir trees that grew in the area around the waterfall. They were sacred by the local people. Moreover, it was believed that it could only grow in Kampung Anyar.
“Many people believe that these trees only grow in this area, and there are so many in here, so they were named Jagir Trees,” Samian said.
In 2015, the condition of this waterfall was still not as good as now. The path to go down was still natural stair from the soil.
Now, there are stairs to go down the waterfall that make the visitors easier to reach the waterfall.
