Lombang Beach and Water Park in Sumenep East Java was Crowded by People

SURYA.co.id | SUMENEP - People are not just celebrating triumph and get together with family on Eid Al-Fitr, but people also going on vacation to some places in their hometown.

For instance, in Kabupaten (district) Sumenep. There are several tourist destinations such as Lombang Beach, Slopeng Beach, and Water Park Sumekar (WPS) which was crowded with people on Friday (8/7/2016).

Many of the visitors came from people of Sumenep who live in another city. They went to their hometown at the moment.

It was shown in their car and motorbike license plate. The license plate was from other cities such as Surabaya, Malang, Jember, and Jakarta.

“We have just gone to Sumenep a day after Eid Al-Fitr, then we went to this place immediately,” said Rudiantoro Djati to Surya on Friday (8/7/2016). Sumenep is his hometown, but he has lived in Solo for a long time.

H Achmad Zaini, people of Sumenep who has been working as an entrepreneur in Central Java for many years, admitted that Lombang beach becomes more beautiful with the she-oak trees along the beach. She-oak trees stand on the beach which has an area of 12 kilometers.

“The beach is still natural and original. It needs several supporting facilities such as hotel or homestay and culinary center. Thus, this beach would be people favorite tourism destination. This beach is more beautiful than Kuta beach and Senggigi Lombok,” he said.

Besides Lombang beach, people also come to Slopeng beach on Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

Slopang beach had slightly fewer visitors than Lombang beach, but it was crowded by hundreds of people.

“More than 200 cars come and go to this place.This place will be full of visitor until few days ahead. The climax of the visitors will be on Hari Raya Kupatan*. Hundreds of people would come over to Slopeng beach,” said Haris, the staff of Slopeng beach organizer, on Friday (8/7/2016).

The other alternative tourist destination is religious tour such as visiting Keraton Sumenep, Masjid (mosque) Agung, and Asta Tinggi. Those places are where Sumenep king is buried.

Many people also decided to go to Water Park Sumekar (WPS). It is located in Desa (village) Kasengan, Kecamatan (sub-district) Manding, Kabupaten (district) Sumenep.

WPS is a swimming pool which is located 3 kilometers from Sumenep city center. It lies near Asta Tinggi Sumenep.

“Not less than 1.000 to 5.000 people visit the biggest swimming pool of Sumenep, WPS,” said Syukri, security staff of WPS.

The entrance ticket price of several places was rising due to Eid Al-Fitr holiday season. The entrance ticket of Lombang and Slopeng beach cost IDR 10.000 per person. The regular price is IDR 2.000 per person.

WPS entrance ticket costs IDR 25.000 per person. The visitors can enjoy all facilities of WPS.
