Bawean Island, With Its Stunning Underwater View until Its Endemic Animal

Bawean Island is a group of islands. It is around 120 km from the eastern part of Kabupaten Gresik. This island provides extraordinary adventure.

After 25 minutes trekking, you will see beautiful panorama with tranquil and peaceful ambiance. The water is so clear that makes us could see fish near the bank.

You could take a rest in the nearest gazebo. You also could swim in this lake. There is a legend there that saying if you swim here, you could young forever. This attraction is a natural conservation since 1979 to preserve its nature.

The Islands and the beaches
There are two islands around Bawean. In the east of Bawean is Gili. it is the biggest island in this area with the most population.

Every day, from morning until dusk there are boats from Gili to Bawean. These boats facilitate the local residents to go to the market or other business.

The second island is Noko Island. Noko is a perfect for snorkeling. It has underwater park complete with coral reefs and colorful fish. Moreover, people say that this island as beautiful as the famous Bunaken.

This island is not far from Bawean, it is even could be seen from the hills around Bawean. This island is long with full of white sands and grass. It is a very beautiful island. To reach this inhabitant island, you should pay Rp 35.000 to get here by boat from the dock from Desa Sidogedung.

Next, you should go to the beach when you visit Bawean. The must-come beach in Bawean is Kuburan Panjang Beach. This beach has two area that separated by land. In one area, the waves are tranquil, while in another area is not.

The name of this beach in English is a cemetery. Just like its name, this beach has 12 meters cemetery. Local residents believe that this cemetery is the cemetery of guards of Aji Saka, a famous legend in Java. because of the historical value, this cemetery is considered as a sacred place by the local people.

After choosing the destination. There are some points you must know. first, you have to bring your own snorkel equipment because there are many beaches that not provide the equipment. Fortunately, the beaches in Bawean Island provides snorkel equipment. You could pay Rp 50.000 for rent this equipment.

The public transportation in Bawean is also limited. So you could rent a motorcycle with rental fee around Rp 45.000 until Rp 60.000. You also could rent a car with rental fee around Rp 550.000 complete with its driver as the guide.

The facilities in the accommodation there are also quite complete, from cottage, motel, or hotel with fee around Rp 250.000 per night.  Have fun in Bawean!
