SURYA.co.id | SITUBONDO - Fishermen in Gelung Village, Panarukan, held a Fisherman Festival on Saturday (30/09/2017). Festival fishermen held in a series of sea picks to be grateful for the favors and fishing fish catches to Allah SWT.

Fishing festival held on the beach, attended by a number of SKPD, Assistant, Fishermen Association of All Indonesia, Head of BPAP Situbondo and officials of Muspika Panarukan.

Even to enliven the festival of fishermen and sea picks are marked by the release of hundreds of pigeons. It was also enlivened by parade and “melarung sesajen” to the sea by local fishermen.

Head of Gelung Village, H Jasmoto said the purpose of holding a festival to encourage the fishing community to work harder to save the marine life and coral reefs.

Jasmoto said it hopes the fishermen start thinking in fishing and also in tourism.

"Later this area is used as a tourist area of fisherman's village and is still in development stage," said Jasmoto.

So far, says Jasmoto, the tourism facilities built among them floating homes and swimming pools.

"In the floating house we offer a variety of fish, including sharks and white snapper, in which there will be educated way of fishy fish grouper," he explained.

Not only that, the people of Gelung will also entertain with ketoprak performances on the beach.
