Sneak a Peek on Soekarno’s Books Collection in Blitar, East Java

SURYA.co.id | BLITAR - Bung Karno Library that is located in Blitar, East Java, has many varieties of books and Soekarno’s writing. This library is on Jalan Kalasan No 1 Bendogerit, Sananwetan, Blitar, East Java.

This library is in the same area with The Proclamator’s cemetery. The building resembles Penataran Temple.

This library’s collection focuses on books written by Soekarno himself, favorite books of Soekarno, books about Soekarno, and books written by national heroes.

Bung Karno Library is divided into two sections, they are book collection and non-book collection. The book collection includes specific book collection, general collection, reference collection, children collection, and teenage collection.

For non-book collection, it has maps, paintings, CDs, DVDs, artifacts, reliefs, magazines, etc.

The visitors could see it all. But to borrow the collection, the visitors must be Blitar’s residents and have the member cards.

“If you want to borrow, you must be a member of Kabupaten and Kota Blitar. Four tourists, they could see the memorabilia or the visitors could go to the museum, “ said Hanafi, the librarian of Bung Karno Library.

Most of the library's visitors are students and public.

The Library and Museum of Bung Karno open every day. For Monday to Thursday, they open from 07.30 - 16.00; while on Friday, they open 7.30 - 16.30. In the weekend, they open from 08.00 - 16.00.
